Michael Alegria has been an entrepreneur for Music Education in the Sarasota County area since 2009. He is the former flute instructor of MyMusicExpert.com with instructional YouTube videos reaching view counts of over 25,000. His work as the Instrumental Director with Venice Instrumental and Vocal Arts (VIVA) brought a new focus to the North Port, Florida, area for high school music students. Through VIVA, Michael was able to provide professional experience to advanced high school students through professional performance opportunities as well as providing scholarship opportunities. He has also served as the Executive Director of Rebound Percussion – a community percussion ensemble for high school age youth with aspirations of becoming a world class competitive music organization by fostering dedication, leadership, self-discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, and musicianship.

Michael’s teaching career started early when he was in the 10th grade and now comes recommended by prominent local music teachers. He has had private students excel at solo and ensemble assessments and has had students successfully audition for the Florida Flute Association student flute choirs, Florida all-state, Polk County All-County bands, and local youth symphony programs. He has given flute masterclasses, worked as a marching band staff member, served as an assistant director for Indoor Percussion groups, and has taught leadership training to marching bands during the summer.
His career as a solo flutist began at the end of his senior year of high school where he produced, performed, and profited from a solo recital at only 18 years old. Michael has served as the principal flutist for several community ensembles such as the North Port Concert Band, North Port Symphony, and North Port Woodwind Quintet. He has been a solo artist with the Venice Performing Arts Series, Venice Instrumental and Vocal Arts, and Sarasota Artist series. He has performed with many other ensembles of note, including the Teacher’s Flute Orchestra at the Florida Flute Convention.
"Alegria possess an innate sense of musicality beyond his years and a unique ability to breathe fresh life into the intricate phrasing of his highly advanced solo flute repertoire.” Deborah Berioli, Venice Performing Arts Series, Director
Michael currently performs with the Imperial Symphony Orchestra and lives in North Port, Florida.
